Sep 09, 2016 this movie is about as perfect as you can get. It is fascinating seeing this simple man make his way through some of the more turbulent times in american history. But with how innocent forrest gump is, he doesn't feel the gravity of all of the important events he is a part of. Tom hanks is perfect in the lead role and there is not an actor in a supporting role that i can find fault in their performance. Sally field, robin wright, gary sinise, mykelti williamson, and on and on and on. The cast was amazing. I never miss a chance to catch this when it is on tv and it continues to be my favorite movie of all time.

“ forrest gump ” is an easy target: a sweet movie featuring one of the most beloved movie stars of all time. It’s a slick and inviting celebration of the human spirit through the lens of a wide-eyed innocent, and utilizes technology to brilliant ends. However, “forrest gump” deserves scrutiny, not because its cheesy protagonist has become a pop culture punchline — after all, forrest’s box-of-chocolates metaphor works just fine — but viewed 25 years after its release lead to box office success and six oscars, it remains a bad movie that gets worse with age, and much scarier than its cozy reputation suggests.

His long list of achievements is quite unbelievable, but such a pleasure to watch, giving viewers the giddy feeling of hope and inspiration.

The Film Changed Hank’s Life

Eamon lahiri · july 02, 2019 forrest gump is about a guy sitting on a bench for two hours, telling his entire life story to people who just want to wait for the damn bus in peace. It's a convenient framing device for the film, but have you ever wondered why forrest was telling all this stuff to random strangers? the film hardly portrays him as the type to initiate and then maintain prolonged conversation. He's more the "sit and stare into the distance" type of guy. Well, as you rewatch the movie for the 20th or 30th time on basic cable, you might start noticing some clues pointing toward forrest's true motivation. Are we suffering from some type of tom-hanks-fueled delusion, or have we stumbled upon forbidden knowledge? you decide.

What Did Forrest Gump Say About the Vietnam War?

Posted: 9/17/2007 3:04:21 pm est be careful what you wish for. Liberal ass hollywood would probably portray young pfc gump jr as a iraqi war hero,  returning from war with ptsd and a newfound skill with firearms. As young gump travels the country he wreaks havok with his the civilian equivalent of his m16 assault rifle, mowing down innocent children with gunfire and opening numerous pit-bull fighting schools. Abusive parents : jenny's father was sexually abusive. Forrest doesn't realize this, at least to begin with. Accent upon the wrong syllable : forrest is shot in the but-tocks in vietnam. Accidental athlete : forrest ends up as a running back on paul "bear" bryant's university of alabama team when a couple of bullies chase him and he ends up running through the school field when the team was practicing. It helps when you consider exactly who he was seen by. For those of you unaware, bryant is universally considered to be one of the greatest american football coaches of all time.

However, when he was stalked by the media after the film, he kept saying that it was purely fiction. And that’s all we have to say about that. Only seconds later, shots fired from all around forrest’s platoon, providing a cinematic exploration of how terrible the vietnam war was for soldiers at the mercy of unknown territory.

I want to thank pro for instigating this debate. Forrest gump is arguably one of the most enjoyable movies made in the last few decades, but i do not believe it is a true story. A movie which features several clips from various past events does not mean the movie itself is a true story. When discussing whether a movie is a true story or not we must consider the origin of the script, the movie plot in full, and the historical accuracy of the movie in relation to the "true story" the movie is attempting to capture.

With this short rebuttal in mind, i will now extend the opportunity for pro to begin with his arguments before presenting my own. Thank you. I want to thank pro for his response. I. In every single black and white tape showed, forrest gump is there. My opponent poses this argument with the claim being that it means that forrest gump was in all those locations at the time that the events took place. My opponent further claims that he researched the movie and found that all these events and people are true.

Print acouple of things "forrest gump" is not: 1. A well-meant but maudlin tvish movie about borderline retardation. Forrest may have an iq of 75 but he is a holy idiot, not a pitiable one. Nor is he a political campaign made flesh. In other words, you needn't have your political correctness checked by a nurse at the box office.
