She had gone to the party (along with 2 others) as the sanderson sisters from hocus pocus. It seriously looks so amazing that i thought she might have bought it but it turns out she made it herself. It has beatiful illustrations and is bound well, but when compared to other books it does seem to lack substance. They are just spells with none of the magic, she consciously misses out the religion, perhaps so as not to 'frighten' off the non pagan? it inspires you to do more, but it is the ulitmate beginners guide, i wouldn't recommend it for established witches. It can also be frustrating because it can be hard to do the spells exactly right - the times are quite specific etc and the book doesn't explore how oyu can improvise, and that at the core of it all is your own magic, not that of a sprig of basil. But then again, it is my baby, and a book i've read hudnreds of times.
