The way the person appears to be serious is a big part of what makes it funny.

Psychologists believe that there are four main styles of humor: • affiliative – this involves telling jokes that everyone might find funny to bring people together which is a great trait of good, warm comedians that are family friendly. • aggressive – insults or put-downs aimed at individuals. This is the type of humor that is used by bullies and those comedians that sail close to the wind. While some people find them funny, others can find them very offensive. It can often be a way of deflecting from their own shortcomings.

In my experience, exfps receive the most laughter from large groups. That being said, they don't usually cater to my style of humor (not to say i don't find them funny, there's one particular enfp i find pretty hilarious [her humor isn't as intentional, she's just a funny person], i just think they're kind of overrated). Anon342351 july 19, 2013 frankly, i find humor annoying, much like being distracted by some noisy obnoxious kid while you're attempting to listen no some informative and engaging speaker. I never laugh, and although i always "get" a joke when someone tells one, they just seem stupid. Humor, to me, is an immature developmental phase, just like play or fantasy. Some people apparently fail to grow past that point in their lives. They're really quite ridiculous and lack the maturity to see it.
