? if you are looking for movies like percy jackson & the olympians: the lightning thief these could be interesting candidates.
The closer two names are, the greater the probability the two movies are similar.
Ermahgerd you guys, today's the cover reveal for rick riordan's next book in the heroes of olympus, the house of hades!
ok, real talk: i actually don't care about covers until they're in my grabby little hands. (and even then, i'm still fairly dense. I read words, not pictures, y'all.
) but this is a particularly percy-filled year: the adaptation for the sea of monsters will surely disappoint me hit theatres on august 7th, and omg is it october 19th 8th yet -- er, the aforementioned house of hades will be released this fall.
Tuwebsong 0 comments percy jackson: the titan's curse movie cast. The trailer nor even official pictures have come out for percy jackson: sea of monsters and i’m already dreaming up a cast for the titan’s curse. Below is who i think would be great for the new additions. Percy jackson the titan’s curse movie cast. Nico di angelo played by asa butterfield. Nico’s description. Hair: black. Skin: olive skin that has paled to white.
You’ve read the book. You’ve seen the movie. Now submerge yourself in the thrilling, stunning, and action-packed graphic novel. Mythological monsters and the gods of mount olympus seem to be walking out of the pages of twelve-year-old percy jackson’s textbooks and into his life. And worse, he’s angered a few of them. Zeus’s master lightning….
Combat prowess:Â he is trained in roman legionary warfare. Dyslexia :Â his brain is hardwired for latin. Fighting skills: he is an exceptional spearman and swordsman. Jason's fighting skills are amazing seeing as how he bested kronos' brother, krios in hand to hand combat, a feat only hercules has accomplished, who is technically jason's older brother. He also slew the trojan sea monster , easily defeated the skilled swordsman lityerses , and dominated mount othrys by fighting through hordes of scythian dracanae and toppling kronos ' black throne. He had easily killed the storm spirits in the lost hero, and was holding his own against one of medea's golden dragons. He has also shown to be able to hold his own against larger, more experienced, and more powerful opponents such as the giant enceladus , fought polybotes even underwater though he was saved by dylan the storm spirit, and even defeated titans such as krios. When possessed by eidolons in the mark of athena , jason fought percy jackson on even footing (piper couldn't believe the speed of their sword fighting), and was only knocked out because he was distracted by piper's charmspeak. Jason can even use improvised weapons to fight as he used a wooden plank in the wolf house in the lost hero to fend off numerous opponents. In the blood of olympus , jason is able to fight two hundred ghosts of the suitors, along with the help of annabeth and piper (replicating the feat of odysseus), and ultimately defeats the giant king porphyrion with zeus 's help. Jason has even shown to be equal to percy when it comes with fighting, even though percy later states in the son of sobek that not many people can fight him well, indicating that jason is a better fighter than most. Because jason is trained in roman legionary warfare, his fighting style includes analyzing your opponents' moves and learning their style, which was proven effective against lityerses who was also surprised by his unorthodox style.
The actor is set to reprise his heroic role in new fantasy adventure film 'percy jackson: sea of monsters' and thinks he has similar traits to the half-human, half-god character he portrays in the blockbuster franchise. He said: "i have a lot in common with percy. Everyone has experienced self-doubt. I've felt that many times. I feel that on every film i make - initially i have to convince myself of my own worth and then go out there and try my best. I always go in very insecure, but i feel that anxiety and stress is fuel for the fire to try to find what i need to discover. ".
You got percy jackson! woah, look at you landing on old seaweed brain himself! you may be a bit of a smart aleck, but no one minds because you'd much rather stick your neck out for friends than poke fun at them. You have an impetuous side, which might get you into some scrapes but also comes in handy when you need to make quick, tough decisions. Be careful of that temper, though. Take some deep breaths and think blue thoughts.

"you're more than a one-quest wonder," someone tells percy jackson at the outset of his next adventure. Not by the looks of his sequel, he isn't. The teenaged demigod returns in percy jackson: sea of monsters, after dispatching with a lightning thief and exhausting much of the franchise's charm three years ago.
That first movie was obviously a calculated grab for harry potter-type movie success but didn't feel like a rip-off. This one skews younger, to an easier-to-please demographic, closely resembling other fantasies since.
Powered by justwatch if you have to have a god for a dad, you could do worse than poseidon. That's one of the messages of "percy jackson: sea of monsters," the sequel to the first percy jackson film, and based on rick riordan's popular teen novels. Not that any of the ancient gods seem particularly attentive to their offspring, who are often conceived during a quick trip to earth. Logan lerman once again plays percy, here communicating with poseidon by dipping a hand in his element. Sometimes he gets a ripple and sometimes he doesn't, which only adds to percy's identity crisis. He worries about whether or not he can access his supernatural powers. But it's better than a lot of the gods-as-fathers we learn about in the tale of the half-bloods.

By zach lisabeth /may 14, 2020 7:29 pm est/updated: dec. 9, 2020 7:01 pm est fans of rick riordan's percy jackson novels rejoice — disney has officially begun development on a new adaptation of the popular ya book series, and we have every reason to think the company intends to get it right.
There’s a lot for young readers to love in rick riordan’s novels — wise-cracking kid protagonists with cool powers, modern life layered with ancient myths, seemingly impossible quests, and insurmountable odds — and kids burn through them faster than he can pen new ones. If you know a middle grade reader who has already finished the entire percy jackson and the olympians series, tackled the kane chronicles, and caught up with the latest magnus chase book … never fear, we’re here to help! we’ve picked a few series featuring a new cast of characters that are sure to help tide over even the most dedicated of percy jackson fans.
Alongside “the hunger gamesâ€, i also really like the “percy jackson and the olympian†series. I’ve been wanting to read it for years, but didn’t get the chance to until this june in reading class while studying greek mythology. I absolutely loved it! i proceeded to read the rest of the series over the summer and became completely absorbed into it! (like i did with “the hunger gamesâ€. ).
Perseus jackson or simply percy jackson is one main protagonists in "the hero's of olympus", series as well as one of the main characters in "the heroes of olympus" series. He is a greek demigod, son of poseidon and sally jackson. He is the counselor of poseidon's cabin and is a former praetor of the twelfth legion at camp jupiter. He is currently in a relationship with annabeth chase. He is portrayed by logan lerman in series the and is the older half-brother to fellow cyclopes tyson. He is also the descendant of theseus diezera, and is the leader of the titans.
October 11, 2017 by read riordan staff facebook in honor of the percy jackson & the olympians series by rick riordan, here is a fun recipe for sugar cookies, topped with a shiny blue trident that belonged to percy’s dad, poseidon, the god of the sea. Tip: some people like to make their cookies a day before serving and freeze them overnight so they’re nice and cold when it’s time to ice the cookies. Adding a stencil to icing makes sugar cookies extra special, and you can download our easy how-to here.
1 harry potter fandom do i really need to say why this is the best fandom ever? the books are so well thought out and put together, and it is fun to point out different plot holes. Plus the characters are incredibly complex. We about the difficulties in the black family, how snape became a bully, how james grew out of bullying and so much more. This series is incredible and deserves its top spot.
Since i’m apparently incapable of talking about anything else , today i want to share something very close and personal with you, and the desecration thereof—the perfect percy jackson gift percy jackson mug percy jackson fan gifts series and its adaptation that didn’t even try for like a second. Percy jackson and the olympians is a pentalogy published during the mid-2000s that could have been a gigantic booming franchise like harry potter is now, but never really took off. The premise and structure are similar-ish: magical powers come from greek deity ancestry, kids go to summer camp instead of boarding school, and there, they sorted into cabins instead of houses based on their godly parent instead of character traits. And then there’s also a prophecy about saving the world.
The percy jackson book series is composed of 16 books. Meanwhile, the original percy jackson series is composed of 6 books. This series is one of the most popular among children, only shadowed by the harry potter series. The percy jackson books are a great introduction to the greek mithology, since the main character, percy, is none other than the son of poseidon himself.
The aughts are defined by the young adult literature boom and the subsequent movie adaptations the books spawned. Harry potter opened the floodgates of novels for teens and preteens that spoke to them through a lens of imagination and fantasy. Then hollywood came swooping in. Studios’ attempts to recreate the magic money-printing power of potter and twilight flopped as often as they succeeded, and among the disappointments were the adaptations of the first two percy jackson books, a series that defined much of my own angsty pre-teen-dom.
If you’re looking for enchanting movies like ‘harry potter’, ‘the spiderwick chronicles’, the ‘percy jackson’ series and ‘the sorcerer’s apprentice’ should be next on your list! ~ jane howarth “i swear i don’t know. One minute the glass was there and then it was gone. It was like magic!†the magic (sorry, couldn’t resist) of the ‘harry potter’ series is that there’s nothing quite like it.
I’ve never been much of a fangirl. I didn’t swoon over harry potter or obsessively stalk one direction members like some of my other friends. However, i have always been an avid reader. The percy jackson series in particular caught my attention as soon as i read the first book at 11 years old. I was instantly hooked. To this day, i still hold many fond memories of the series.
Based on the second novel in the maze runner series, scorch trials continues from where we were left off in the first movie. Our boys have finally escaped the deadly maze. Finally out of the labyrinth, they must face the unprecedented challenge of surviving in a strange, unknown landscape. Can they survive out there?.

Recently i asked you guys what kind of team you’d like to see in charge if a disney-led percy jackson reboot were to happen. Again, i have to warn you this is completely hypothetical, just wishful thinking, not based on any concrete plans in the pipeline. Even if some reboot happened someday, i would have zero control over it, because those rights were signed away before the first pjo book was even published and, like most authors, my contract was very standard in that hollywood controls all things and all decisions about the movie. The author may or may not be consulted, but the movie folks have final say on everything. There is a widespread myth (ha!) that authors have much more control over movie decisions than we actually do. Even the most powerful authors (yes, the ones you are thinking of right now) have way less influence and control than you think they do. Nobody talks about that though, because when a movie is just coming out it is in the studio’s interest for it to sound like everybody was very involved and pleased with the final product. In reality, the best we authors can hope for is a good team effort, where everyone gets along, has the same vision, and works together well. Sometimes, that happens.
Daedalus' story was told a bit differently than it was in percy jackson and the olympians. One difference was that daedalus killed perdix before icarus was even born. Theseus appeared in the battle of the labyrinth but percy jackson never mentioned that in this book. Despite the large part that zoe nightshade played in the titan's curse , and being involved in hercules' 11th task, she is never mentioned in hercules' chapter, and neither was nereus.
Percy jackson and the battle of the labyrinth is the fourth book in the percy jackson and the olympians series. In my original review/thoughts, i said that i have a soft spot for nico and luke, which has not changed. I also said that i was going to finish the series, and while that did not happen in 2015, it will happen in 2020. At least i'm going to do my best. Overall this is such a beloved series, and i have right there on that bandwagon. However, this one is not, in my opinion, the strongest in the series. I really do not like the labyrinth as a location and that really slows the plot down for me. I'm hoping that once i read the next book i will love this one more because i will be able to see the series in its entirety for the first time.
Next month marks seven years since percy jackson and the lightning thief hit theaters — and logan lerman made his debut as an bonafide action star. Alongside his friends grover and annabeth, played by brandon t. Jackson and alexandra daddario, the son of poseidon goes on a quest to save his mom and return zeus' lightning bolt to the king of gods.
The sorcerer’s apprentice (2010), how to train your dragon (2010), willow (1988), percy jackson and the lightning thief (2010), jack the giant slayer (2013), the canterville ghost (1996), krabat and the legend of the satanic mill (2008), clash of the titans (2010), the worst witch (1986), jumanji (1995), the last airbender (2010),if you can think of more similar films then don't forget to mention them in the comments below.
Sea of creatures was a very nice video in comparison to the lightning thief. The first video fully destroyed the series, so this sequel had to fix all the troubles in the first one. Because of this, the video couldn't focus on the nice plot so it was different. But they conpmetely crash any chances of making other percy jackson video because theu made kronor resurrect in this video and die. So there is really no need for titans curse.
The movie the lightning thief, has excellent special effects (hades in the fire and looking like an old rock musician is well done) and tells the story of percy jackson, half human, half olympian god. Several easily recognized actors play olympian roles (uma thurman is enjoyable as medusa, pierce brosnan with a half-horse body at chiron, sean bean (boromir from lord of the rings and odysseus in try) plays zeus), and, except for the likeness of percy jackson (logan lerman) to my son’s friend ryan and a few occasions of wooden acting, the kid’s parts (percy, annabeth, grover) were well cast.
Compare and contrast: have you ever read percy jackson and the lightning thief by rick riordan?  have you ever seen the movie?  if so you probably noticed how different they are. Although they bear some minor similarities the difference between the lightning thief book and the lightning thief movie  are the most prominent.
Annabeth chase is a fictional character in rick riordan 's percy jackson and hereos of olympus series. She is a demigod , meaning she is half-mortal and half goddess. Her father is the mortal frederick chase and her mother is athena , the goddess of wisdom , crafts, arts, and battle strategy. She is first cousins with magnus chase, who's mother is her paternal aunt. She appears first in the first novel of the series, the lightning thief. Throughout the series she becomes close friends with percy jackson , later becoming his main love interest and girlfriend.
Annabeth chase is the half-blood daughter of the goddess athena [4 ] [5 ] [6 ] and the mortal man frederick chase. Being a daughter of athena, who is a virgin, she was not physically born , but is a literal 'brain child'; she was born as a gift to the man her mother loved. When she was seven, she ran away from home. On her journey, she met luke castellan , thalia grace , and grover underwood. Together, they traveled to camp half-blood , running from and fighting hordes of monsters. When they got to the borders of camp half-blood, thalia died fighting monsters so that luke and annabeth could safely get into camp. She lived at camp half-blood for five years prior to percy jackson's arrival.
Annabeth chase : throughout the series, it is shown that they have feelings for each other ; in each book there are hints of romantic tension and flirting. Percy and annabeth first meet in the lightning thief when percy wakes up after passing out to see annabeth, whom he described as "pretty", spoon-feeding him nectar and ambrosia, the food of the gods. Percy is confused and irritated by annabeth's behavior in the beginning of the lightning thief, but they develop a solid friendship at the end of the novel from all they had experienced together. In the battle of the labyrinth , percy and annabeth were supposed to meet up after school for lunch and a movie which percy's mother, sally, referred to as a "date" and teased him about it. It is revealed in the sea of monsters that percy carried a picture of annabeth in his binder and that annabeth had been tailing percy with her cap of invisibility on. In the titan's curse , percy meets aphrodite (percy momentarily thought she resembled annabeth), who tells him that he will have a tragic love life; incidentally, percy meets rachel a little while after. At the end of the book, he nearly has a heart attack, thinking annabeth was about to join the hunters of artemis. Annabeth kisses him four times, once after winning the chariot race in the sea of monsters , though that was only on the cheek, again as she leaves him to fight the telekhines at mount st. Helens in the battle of the labyrinth , in the dining area of camp half-blood, prior to all the other campers throwing them in the canoe lake in the last olympian , where they share an underwater kiss. Also in the last olympian when percy and annabeth were inspecting athena's cabin, percy states that "sure, she'd always been cute, but she was starting to be seriously beautiful". When percy goes to the river styx to bathe, he is supposed to envision the one thing that keeps him tied to the mortal world. He thinks of annabeth pulling him out of the water at the canoe lake. Annabeth is also the only person who knows percy's vulnerable spot. When kronos is spotted during the battle in the last olympian, percy orders a retreat, but annabeth stays behind to help him, taking a knife that would have killed him. At the end of the last olympian when luke is dying, he asks annabeth if she ever loved him, to which she replies that she only loved him as a brother, looking up to percy. In the second series, they are dating and shown to be in love. Several times, both annabeth and percy say that they cannot live without the other. They say that they love each other and kiss throughout the books. This pairing is commonly referred to as percabeth( per- sa- beth).
